The trailer for Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s upcoming fantasy film ‘Vvaan’ has been released. The 2-minute 44-second trailer introduces a mysterious and forbidden forest where faith and folklore come together.
Sidharth plays an atheist in the film and is seen confronting the ghosts and supernatural forces inside the forest. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, who also directed the web series ‘Panchayat’, the film will hit theatres on September 25.
The story begins during the Chhath Puja holidays
The trailer opens with a conversation between Tamannaah Bhatia and Sidharth Malhotra’s characters. Tamannaah’s character talks about heading towards the forest during the Chhath Puja holidays, while Sidharth’s character is seen making excuses. Tamannaah believes that the goddess herself has summoned them.
After this, several unimaginable events begin unfolding in the story. An ancient temple dedicated to the ‘Forest Goddess’ stands there. The temple brings old folktales back to life.
‘Bhuttaka’ powers and the rule banning entry after sunset
The biggest rule governing this mysterious world in the film is, “Entering the forest after sunset is prohibited.” Dark and terrifying powers known as ‘Bhuttaka’ reside deep inside the forest and are considered more dangerous than the silence of the night.
According to local belief, anyone who enters this forest at night can never return alive. Despite these dangers, Siddharth’s character is irresistibly drawn towards the forest.
Shot on real locations, based on folklore
To create a sense of fear and authenticity in the film, the makers shot it in real forests. Following the success of films based on folklore such as ‘Tumbbad’, ‘Bramayugam’ and ‘Kantara’, audiences have been showing considerable interest in this kind of content.
Produced under the Balaji Telefilms banner by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, the film features Siddharth and Tamanna, along with actors such as Maniesh Paul, Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover and Anup Soni in key roles.
