India rejected the Pakistan-China Boundary Commission launched in Islamabad on Wednesday. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of India.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that no boundary exists between Pakistan and China. According to the ministry, the commission was established without any legal basis.
India said Pakistan has no right to be involved in any agreement concerning Indian territory. It asked Pakistan to vacate the areas under its illegal occupation.
The ministry said Pakistan has no right to be involved in any agreement concerning Indian territory that is under Pakistan’s illegal and forcible occupation.
1963 agreement also declared illegal
India also declared the so-called “China-Pakistan Boundary Agreement” of March 2, 1963, illegal and invalid. This agreement was signed to demarcate the border between Xinjiang and Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan.
India said that China-Pakistan border cooperation involving Indian territories will be considered completely unacceptable.
India called on Pakistan to end such “theatrics” and to vacate the territories it has illegally and forcibly occupied.
Pakistan claims – the commission will open new avenues
According to Pakistan, the border commission will open the way for increased cooperation between the two countries, promoting joint border surveys, trade and connectivity.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry wrote on X that the first meeting of the Commission was held at the Foreign Ministry in Islamabad.
The meeting was co-chaired by Li Ya, Deputy Director General of the Department of Boundary and Oceanic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and Bilal Mahmood Chaudhry, Director General of China Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
