Rashmika Mandanna will soon be seen in the period action drama film Ranabaali.
Actress Rashmika Mandanna responded to the trolling she faces over her accent and language while working across different film industries.
She said she was not necessarily very good in any one language. Her journey has involved constantly adapting to different languages and roles.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Rashmika said she considers every language her own.
Rashmika speaks about languages
Rashmika said, “I am Kodava and speak Kodava takk. There is no film industry for my mother tongue. So language has never been a hindrance in my career.”
She said, “I consider all languages my own. My fans, whom I call my family, were the first to ask me to do a Telugu film.”
Rashmika said the same thing happened with Hindi as well. In this way, her career continued to grow across different languages.
When asked about people’s reactions to her accent, she said she had now become accustomed to hearing people’s opinions about the way she spoke differently.
Rashmika said, “As long as I can answer questions asked in a language, it is fine. In the same way, I respect my audiences from different parts of the world.”
She further said, “I am someone who tries her hand at everything, but I am not a master of any one thing.”
Rashmika focuses on films
Rashmika said she does not pay much attention to unnecessary discussions about her accent in films. Instead, she focuses on playing her character to the best of her ability.
She said, “As an actress, my job is to tell good stories on set and then come back. With every film, I believe that the best parts of all of us come together to create something magical.”
Rashmika said, “I focus on my work. The outcome of a film is the result of all these people coming together with their energy.”
She added, “I do not want to interfere in anyone else’s work. I only focus on giving my best performance as an actress.”
Rashmika was trolled over a scene in ‘Animal’
Rashmika was trolled over the film ‘Animal’ in 2023. Rashmika Mandanna’s Karva Chauth scene in the film’s trailer attracted considerable attention. She was trolled on social media over her dialogue with Ranbir Kapoor’s character in the scene and the way she delivered it. Many people said they could not understand her dialogue clearly.
In the film ‘Animal’, Rashmika Mandanna played the role of Ranvijay Singh’s wife, Geetanjali, portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor.
After this, Rashmika spoke about the trolling on Neha Dhupia’s talk show. She said the scene was around nine minutes long and that the people present on the set during the shoot had liked it. They had also applauded. However, only around 10 seconds of it was shown in the trailer, for which she was trolled.
Rashmika had said that an actor knows how they performed the entire scene, but viewers form their opinions after watching only a few seconds. She also said that she understands criticism, but does not feel it is right to troll actors personally.
Will be seen in these films
On the work front, she was last seen in the Hindi film ‘Cocktail 2’. Rashmika, meanwhile, had five films released in 2025. She played Maharani Yesubai in the Hindi film ‘Chhaava’. She was then seen as Saisri Rajkot in ‘Sikandar’.
Rashmika also worked in the Telugu-Tamil bilingual film ‘Kuberaa’ and the Hindi film ‘Thama’. In addition, she was seen in the Telugu film ‘The Girlfriend’.
Rashmika Mandanna will soon be seen alongside her husband, Vijay Deverakonda, in the film ‘Ranabaali’. The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 16 October.
Rashmika’s filmography also includes ‘Maisa’ and the biopic of M.S. Subbulakshmi, ‘MS – A Legacy on Screen’.
