
Hyderabad Police have taken actor and WWE wrestler Saurav Gurjar, who played Bheem in the television serial Mahabharat, into custody following a woman’s complaint alleging harassment after a promise of marriage.
Police apprehended Saurav at Mumbai airport and brought him to Hyderabad. After appearing before the court, he was sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
Woman alleges he made her quit her US job
According to the complaint, the woman alleged that Saurav spent time living with her after promising to marry her. She also claimed that he persuaded her to leave her job in the United States.
She alleges he blocked her when she asked about marriage
The woman further alleged that whenever she raised the matter of marriage, Saurav would block her number and distance himself from her.

They met on Instagram, then began living together
According to the 29-year-old woman’s complaint, she met Saurav Gurjar through Instagram in 2021. The two then began talking on WhatsApp and grew closer.
The woman said that they met for the first time on 25 December 2021. During the meeting, Saurav assured her that he would marry her and give her the status of his wife. They later began living together in the United States and continued to live together after returning to India.
Made her quit her job in the United States on the pretext of starting a business
The woman said she quit her job in the United States at Saurav’s insistence. Saurav had promised that they would start a new business together.
The woman alleged that the constant mental harassment prevented her from focusing on her career. Whenever she asked him about marriage, Saurav would block her phone number and distance himself from her.

They lived together in Hyderabad, then he suddenly disappeared
The woman told the police that Saurav lived with her from October 2025 to March 2026. The two were living together in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Saurav suddenly disappeared without providing any information. The woman then filed a complaint with the police. After a case was registered, Gachibowli police began an investigation and took Saurav Gurjar into custody at Mumbai airport.

Saurav Gurjar began his acting career in 2013 with Star Plus’ show ‘Mahabharat’, in which he played Bhim. The show ran from 2013 to 2014.
He later appeared as Ravan and Bali in the serial ‘Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman’ between 2016 and 2017.

Saurabh played the role of a supporting villain in the film ‘Brahmastra’.
He made his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Brahmastra’ in 2022. After a three-year break, he returned to television in February 2025 with the Colors TV show ‘Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav’, in which he played the character of Swarth.
