Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has reached Kevadia to attend the National Film Awards. He received a grand welcome with drums and garba at his hotel. Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu arrived at Vadodara airport today as part of her three-day Gujarat visit and was welcomed there. After arriving at Vadodara airport, the President’s convoy left for Kevadia by road. Due to bad weather, she travelled to Kevadia by road instead of by air.
Governor Acharya Devvrat, Minister of State Praful Panseriya, Vadodara Mayor Gitaben Makwana, Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar, Major General Mohit Gandhi and Collector Dr Anil Dhameliya gave the President a warm welcome at Vadodara airport.

Actors from the Bollywood and South Indian film industries will arrive in Kevadia tomorrow as well.
For the first time in its 72-year history, the ceremony will be held in Gujarat
The grand ceremony of the 72nd National Film Awards, considered among the country’s most prestigious honours for excellence in cinema, will be held in Kevadia, Gujarat, this year. President Droupadi Murmu and Bollywood stars will attend the ceremony tomorrow, 22 September.
Instituted in 1954, the National Film Awards are presented by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. This year’s ceremony is being held at Ekta Nagar for the first time in the awards’ 72-year history as part of the move to take the event beyond the national capital and highlight India’s cultural and cinematic diversity.
Kartik Aaryan to receive the award for ‘Chandu Champion’
This year, the Best Actor in a Leading Role award will be shared by Kartik Aaryan for ‘Chandu Champion’ and Malayalam film actor Mammootty for ‘Bramayugam’. The Best Actress in a Leading Role award will be presented to Yami Gautam for ‘Article 370’. The Best Debut Director award will be given to Randeep Hooda for ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’. The Best Director award will be presented to Rajkumar Periasamy for ‘Amaran’.
A large number of Bollywood and South Indian stars and VVIPs will attend the awards ceremony.
Awards to be presented in various categories
The main award ceremony will be held from 4 to 6 pm. During the approximately 75-minute main protocol session in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, winners in various categories will be presented with awards and certificates of honour.
The main ceremony will begin between 4 and 5.15 pm with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the national anthem, in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, Union ministers and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Awards will then be presented in various categories, including feature films, non-feature films, and Best Actor and Best Actress.
Special cultural programme for guests on the banks of the Narmada
Between 5.15 pm and 6 pm, President Droupadi Murmu will address personalities from the film industry. An official group photograph will then be taken with all the award winners.
After the main ceremony concludes, a special cultural programme for guests has been organised on the banks of the Narmada after 6.30 pm. In addition, a special theme-based laser and light-and-sound show has also been organised at the Statue of Unity.
