Ammy Virk Rolls-Royce Attacked in Canada

Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk was reportedly targeted in a shooting in Canada after a show, with unidentified attackers firing several rounds at his Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Virk was returning after performing late on Saturday night when the attackers opened fire on the vehicle. Four people, including Virk, were inside the car. Around seven to 10 shots were fired, with seven bullet marks found on the vehicle. All four occupants were safe.

Initial reports said that a car had come under fire, but organisers later confirmed that Punjabi singer Ammy Virk was travelling in the vehicle.

The bullets did not penetrate the heavily built Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The rear windscreen sustained the most damage, while the vehicle’s body also bore bullet marks.

Gunfire erupts after show ends

The incident took place at around 11 pm on Saturday near McCallum Road and South Fraser Way in Canada.

Virk had left the Roger’s Arena in Abbotsford after completing his show and was travelling in the Rolls-Royce when unidentified attackers targeted the vehicle.

The rear windscreen sustained the most damage, but the bullets reportedly failed to penetrate the vehicle’s strong body.

Four people were in the car

A man from Surrey was also travelling with Virk. Police have not disclosed who the attackers may have been targeting, citing privacy concerns.

According to police, the Surrey man had previously survived three attempts on his life. Investigators are therefore looking at multiple possible angles in the case.

Suspected SUV found burnt 5km away

The attackers fled the scene after the shooting.

Police later found a suspected SUV burnt near Sunnyside Place, around 5km from the scene of the shooting. Investigators suspect the vehicle may have been used in the attack.

The burning of the vehicle could make it more difficult for police to recover evidence and identify those involved.

Police investigate as Punjabi industry raises security concerns

Police have confirmed the shooting and the discovery of the burnt SUV. An investigation is underway to identify the attackers and establish the motive behind the incident.

People associated with the Punjabi music and film industry, as well as Virk’s family members, have also confirmed that the singer was inside the vehicle.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of Punjabi artists performing in Canada.
