Bengaluru Law Student Stabbed After Rejecting Marriage Proposal

A 22-year-old law student was attacked with a knife in Bengaluru after she allegedly rejected the accused’s marriage proposal. The incident took place at around 4:30 pm in the Kodihalli area of HAL Road.

The incident occurred on July 13, and CCTV footage has now emerged. Amrita died while undergoing treatment at a hospital on the evening of July 15.

The deceased student was identified as Amrita. Police have arrested Dhanush and his younger brother Surya in connection with the broad-daylight murder. They are being questioned.

According to police, Amrita, Dhanush and Surya lived in the same area. The two families knew each other through religious events. Amrita and Dhanush initially became friends, which later turned into a relationship.

Police said Amrita learned about Dhanush’s past. He was married, had been divorced and also had a child.

After this, Amrita ended the relationship and distanced herself from Dhanush. According to police, Surya was angry with her decision. Surya had threatened Amrita, telling her that he would not spare her for rejecting his brother.

On July 13, the two had an argument. During the altercation, Surya attacked Amrita with a knife. He stabbed her in the chest and back before fleeing the scene. However, people caught him.

Woman treated for more than 48 hours

Amrita remained admitted to the hospital for more than 48 hours. Doctors tried to save her, but she died on the evening of July 15.

Following the incident, Jeevan Bima Nagar police registered a case against Dhanush and Surya. Both have been arrested and are being questioned.
