Madhya Pradesh is now going to make a big leap in the field of telecom and electronics manufacturing. After the MoU signed between the Madhya Pradesh government and the Central Department of Telecommunications in Delhi, India’s first Integrated Telecom Technology Ecosystem will be developed in Gwalior.
In this telecom manufacturing zone, to be built on 170 acres of land, equipment related to 5G, 6G, and modern digital technology will be manufactured. Initially, an investment of about ?2000 crore and 4500 direct employment opportunities have been announced for the project. In the future, the target is to provide permanent employment to 8 to 9 thousand youths here.
Entire process from design to export at one place
This zone in Gwalior will be the country’s first such center where the entire value chain of telecom products will be developed in one place. Here, the complete process from product design, development, manufacturing, testing, certification, and export will be available. The advantage of this will be that companies will not need to go to different cities for design, testing, and certification facilities. With the entire system available in one place, it will take less time to start production.
Zone to be prepared on a plug-and-play model
This telecom manufacturing zone to be built in Gwalior will be developed on a plug-and-play model. This means that companies will be provided with the necessary basic facilities in advance to set up their units. The government’s goal is that companies coming here can quickly start production and Madhya Pradesh can become a major hub for telecom equipment manufacturing.
Focus on 5G-6G, IoT and Semiconductor Sectors
In this zone, the manufacturing of equipment related to 5G and upcoming 6G networks, along with optical fiber, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, networking hardware, and semiconductor-related products will be promoted. This sector can also prove to be important for industries like defense, health, education, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Center to provide ?500 crore in aid, investors to receive concessions To accelerate the project, approximately ?500 crore in assistance will be provided by the central government. Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh government will provide 170 acres of land. To attract investors, facilities like 100 percent reimbursement in stamp duty and power tariff support are also planned to be offered. Under this, a provision has been made to provide electricity at a concessional rate.
CM said – Now MP stands with the states of South India Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that until now, the states of South India were considered the main centers of electronics and telecom manufacturing in the country, but now Madhya Pradesh is also moving forward equally in this sector. He said that this project in Gwalior will give the state a new identity in the field of new technology and employment. The government’s goal is that along with investment here, a large number of quality employment opportunities should be created for the youth.
Scindia said- Central and state governments will remove every obstacle Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that this project is the result of a joint effort by the Central and Madhya Pradesh governments. He said that investors will not be allowed to face any administrative or policy-related problems. Scindia said that both governments will work together to remove every obstacle in the path of this project, so that investors can work here with confidence. He said that after continuous hard work for the last one and a half years, this historic project is taking shape on the ground.
Delhi-Agra connectivity to become a strength Gwalior has been chosen for this project due to its better connectivity. The road and rail network in the region is strong. Due to connectivity with Delhi and Agra, the possibilities for industrial expansion here will increase.
Why a big step for MP This project is considered a big step towards making Madhya Pradesh not just a state that manufactures telecom equipment, but a center for design, research, testing, and export. This will create new opportunities for technology companies, startups, and technically skilled youth in the state.
