Cyclonic circulation forms over North Andaman Sea
Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation has formed over the North Andaman Sea near Thailand. The system is expected to gradually strengthen and may develop into a low-pressure area by Saturday evening.
The system could intensify further and potentially develop into a cyclone. The American GFS weather model has forecast the possibility of cyclogenesis, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has so far indicated the possibility of the system developing into a low-pressure area.
If the system eventually develops into a cyclone, it will be named ‘Arnab’, a name proposed by Bangladesh.
