The low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal has begun to impact the weather. As a result, the weather changed in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Gujarat from Sunday afternoon.
Heavy rain in Gujarat’s Junagadh Girnar forest area suddenly intensified the flow of water on the road leading to the Atmeshwar Mahadev Temple.
Forty people, including children who had gone to the Indreshwar Temple for darshan, were trapped in the strong current. Rain triggered flooding in the waterfall flowing down Girnar mountain. All of them have been rescued.
The Kottappuzha river in Pookkottumpadam, Kerala, suddenly flooded. A group of five people was swept away; two of them died and two others are missing.
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Jharkhand for Monday. A yellow alert has been issued for Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Marathwada, Konkan-Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka and Kerala.

- Very heavy rain is likely in southern Odisha and northern coastal Andhra Pradesh. Strong winds of 50-60 km/h will blow in Odisha, with speeds likely to reach 70 km/h.
- A yellow alert has been issued for rain in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Bengal, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya and Konkan-Goa.
