TMC MP Mahua Moitra alleged on Friday that the Nadia district administration of Bengal asked her to vacate her room at the Krishnanagar Circuit House late at night.
She said that after she refused to vacate the room, a large number of people gathered outside the Circuit House.
The crowd was chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and trying to intimidate her. Regarding this incident, Moitra wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging a breach of security and protocol.
Moitra said, ‘I am an elected MP until 2029’
Moitra further stated on X that she is an elected MP until 2029. The Lok Sabha session ended on Friday, and she was staying overnight at Krishnanagar Circuit House, which is the official accommodation for MPs.
She said that despite being a sitting woman MP and staying in the Circuit House of her own Lok Sabha constituency, the administration asked her to vacate the room.
Moitra refused to vacate the room. According to her, the district administration was repeatedly calling and messaging her, asking her to vacate the room.
Moitra also posted the notice sent by the Nazareth Deputy Collector of Nadia.

Moitra won the assembly in 2016
After basic education, Moitra went to America for higher education. Later, she got a job in a prestigious bank in London.
In a few years, she became disillusioned with her job and entered politics. She won her first election in 2016 from the Karimnagar Assembly constituency in West Bengal. In 2019, she contested and won the Lok Sabha election from Krishnanagar on a TMC ticket.
