The forest department team caught the crocodile by tying it with a rope and released it into the Shivna river.
There was a stir in Narayanagarh, Mandsaur district, when a huge crocodile entered a residential area. In no time, this crocodile reached the stairs of tent businessman Shailendra Patidar’s house. Fortunately, the crocodile was spotted in time, preventing any untoward incident.
When the family’s eyes fell on the crocodile, everyone was stunned. They immediately raised an alarm. Hearing the sound, villagers gathered. It is suspected that due to continuous waterlogging in the drain near Shailendra Patidar’s house, the crocodile strayed from the drain and entered the populated area. The incident occurred on Sunday morning at 7:30 AM.

Caught After One Hour of Effort
Showing prudence, the villagers immediately informed the forest department about the incident. Upon receiving the information, a team from the forest department, led by Deputy Ranger Sunil Jain and Forest Guard Mayur Chauhan, reached the spot with their staff. With the cooperation of local people, the forest department started a rescue operation. After about an hour of effort, the crocodile was safely brought under control.
It was 5 to 6 feet long, weighing 10 to 12 kg
District Forest Officer Sanjay Raikhere said that the Forest Department team successfully rescued the crocodile. It was safely released into the Shivna River near Mundri village. Forest guard Mayur Singh Chauhan said that the crocodile was about 5 to 6 feet long and weighed 10 to 12 kg.

How the rescue is done
According to the forest guard, the crocodile’s rescue is carried out with complete caution and with the help of a trained team. First, the team surrounds the crocodile. After that, its neck is controlled with the help of a special stick so that it cannot attack.
Then its mouth is tied with a strong rope, and its body is controlled and safely placed in a rescue vehicle. After this, it is released into a river or a large pond. District Forest Officer Sanjay Raykhere said that there are many rivers and associated streams in the Malhargarh, Narayanagarh, and Nahargarh areas.
During the rainy season, crocodiles reach residential areas with the flow of water. As soon as such cases are reported, the forest department team reaches the spot and conducts a safe rescue operation.
