Mandsaur Drug Factory Busted | Suspects Open Fire & Escape; Chemicals Seized

Madhya Pradesh police have busted an illegal factory allegedly manufacturing MD (mephedrone) drugs in Mandsaur district. During the raid, the suspects allegedly opened fire at police, firing around 8-10 rounds before escaping under the cover of darkness.

Police seized more than 325 kg of chemicals, 110 grams of finished MD, sophisticated drug-manufacturing equipment and an unregistered Scorpio-N from the spot.

According to police, the seized chemicals could have been used to manufacture around 100-150 kg of MD drugs, with an estimated international market value of ₹100-150 crore.

Police raid factory operating in middle of farm

The raid was conducted on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday at an illegal factory operating in the middle of a farm in Manpura village under the Sitamau police station limits in Mandsaur district.

Police said chemicals including MDC, HCL, bromo and other substances were recovered from the site.

During the preliminary investigation, police also found that the seized Scorpio-N was allegedly stolen.

An unregistered Scorpio was also recovered, which is said to be stolen.

Scorpio got stuck in field, suspects opened fire

Police had received information that synthetic drugs were being manufactured on a large scale at a farm near a water tank along the Manpura-Badawadi Road.

Following the information, Sitamau police, along with a special team, cordoned off the area.

When the police arrived, the suspects allegedly attempted to flee in a Scorpio-N. However, the vehicle got stuck in the field.

The suspects then allegedly opened fire at the police. Police returned fire in self-defence and to prevent their escape, but the three suspects managed to flee through the fields under the cover of darkness.

The SP stated that the accused were continuously changing locations to manufacture synthetic drugs.

Factory was allegedly being shifted to Rajasthan

Police seized several pieces of equipment from the site, including an electronic weighing machine, gas furnace, electric heat gun, motorised drums, plastic containers, steel utensils, tissue rolls and other items.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the suspects had been moving locations and manufacturing synthetic drugs at different sites.

Police also suspect that the accused were preparing to shift the illegal factory to the Bajranggarh area of Rajasthan, but the raid was conducted before they could do so.

The value of the seized chemical is estimated to be around 100 to 150 crore rupees.

Three booked, Rajasthan connection under probe

Police have registered a case against Dilip Gayri, Govind Gayri, both residents of Manpura, and Pintu Singh Sisodia, a resident of Bajranggarh in Rajasthan.

Cases have been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Arms Act.

Special police teams are conducting searches to arrest the three accused. Police are also investigating their Rajasthan connection and identifying other people allegedly linked to the drug network.

This factory in Manpura was being prepared to be shifted to the Bajranggarh area of Rajasthan.

Fourth MD drug factory busted in Mandsaur

Mandsaur SP Vinod Kumar Meena said this is the fourth MD drug manufacturing facility to be busted in the district.

He said police have been conducting a sustained campaign against synthetic drugs in Mandsaur.

The seized material is being sent for forensic examination, while separate teams have been formed to trace and arrest the absconding suspects.
