Piyush questioned Naseeruddin Shah’s statement
The student movement against alleged irregularities in the JPSC-JSSC examination in Jharkhand continues. Meanwhile, questions are also being raised about Bollywood’s silence. Social media users say that during the CJP (Cockroach Janata Party) protest in Delhi, many celebrities, including Salman Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Alia Bhatt, and Sonakshi Sinha, expressed support for the students.
Users claim that most big names are silent on the issue of Jharkhand students. However, actor Piyush Mishra reached Ranchi and stood in support of the students.
Piyush Mishra, upon reaching the Jharkhand protest, took a jibe at Naseeruddin Shah over one of his statements.
Mishra had said, ‘Naseeruddin Shah Sahab, you had said something about celebrities not speaking up during the Cockroach Janata Party protest, that those dogs with a bone in their mouth will not speak. Excuse me, with all due respect, I want to ask, who are those dogs with a bone in their mouth right now?’

Piyush Mishra and Naseeruddin Shah have worked together in the film ‘Maqbool’ (2003).
What was Naseeruddin Shah’s full statement?
Actually, while talking about the initial silence of celebrities on the protest of the Cockroach Janata Party in Delhi, Naseeruddin Shah had said to The Wire, ‘Celebrities will speak when their conscience tells them to do so. There’s a saying that a dog with a bone in its mouth cannot bark. As soon as the bone falls from its mouth or its teeth break, then it will bark.’

It should be noted that Piyush Mishra had reached the protest site, Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, on the 16th day of the Jharkhand students’ protest. In a conversation with the media, he had said that he came here after watching the students’ interviews and seeing the pain in their eyes. During this time, he also sang the famous song ‘Aarambh Hai Prachand’ from his film ‘Gulaal’.

Piyush Mishra has appeared in many films such as ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Rockstar’, ‘Gulaal,’ and ‘Maqbool’.
