Ranbir Kapoor Ramayan Controversy | Ramlila Mahasangh Threatens Protests

Controversy has erupted over Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sunny Deol and Yash, after the Shri Ramlila Mahasangh issued a warning to the film’s director Nitesh Tiwari and its production house.

Arjun Kumar, president of the Mahasangh, has demanded that the film be screened for a delegation from the organisation before its release in India and overseas during Diwali. According to the Mahasangh, it has received information suggesting that the film may contain certain scenes that could hurt Hindu sentiments.

The organisation has warned that if the alleged controversial scenes are not removed, it will stage protests outside cinema halls screening the film. So far, neither Nitesh Tiwari nor the film’s production house has issued an official statement on the matter.

In that film, golden Lanka was shown as black, and the portrayal of the great scholar Ravana and his army was like Mongol invaders. Due to this strong protest, that film, made on a budget of crores, proved to be a flop at the box office.
