There was no heavy rainfall anywhere in Madhya Pradesh on Monday, and similar weather conditions are expected on Wednesday. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the impact of a western disturbance will be felt across the state from August 6, increasing the chances of heavy rain in several districts.
The monsoon has become active once again in Chhattisgarh. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in most districts over the next three days, while heavy rain and lightning have been forecast at isolated places.
In Uttar Pradesh, the monsoon has regained intensity. Intermittent rain has been reported in more than 50 cities, including Lucknow and Kanpur, since Tuesday morning. Ten rivers, including the Ganga, Ghaghara and Sharda, are flowing above normal levels. Floodwaters have affected 24 villages in Farrukhabad and six in Bijnor, with boats being used in flooded streets.
Jharkhand also witnessed active monsoon conditions on Tuesday, with heavy rainfall reported in Ranchi, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar and several other districts. Eleven people were killed in separate lightning strikes, including two in Latehar and nine in Giridih.
