In Numaligarh, a video of a tractor tyre getting stuck around an elephant’s neck went viral three days earlier, on Friday. The distressed elephant was also seen running into a residential area.
As soon as they received the information, the Forest Department team used a drone to search for the elephant. Once they located it, the team reached the elephant and removed the tyre from its neck.
