1-‘Ancient Relations Between India-Japan, Buddha’s Compassion in Them’
Japan is called the land of the rising sun. Uttar Pradesh is the land of the Suryavansh (Solar Dynasty). Lord Shri Ram’s Ayodhya is here. Lord Buddha gave his first sermon in Sarnath, UP. Kushinagar, the land of his Mahaparinirvana, is also here. The ancient relations between India and Japan contain Buddha’s compassion, life’s discipline and also the middle path. These are also the shared values of both our countries.
2-‘Lord Buddha’s Teachings Reached Japan from UP Centuries Ago’
CM said- Lord Buddha’s teachings reached Japan from the sacred land of Uttar Pradesh centuries ago. In 752 CE, Indian Acharya Bodhisena played an important role in the eye-opening ceremony of the giant Buddha statue at Todai-ji temple in Nara. This is evidence of the deep cultural and spiritual relations between India and Japan in ancient times.
CM said- The centuries-old cultural, spiritual and people-to-people relations between India and Japan have now transformed into a modern strategic partnership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japan’s leadership have taken the relations between both countries to new heights.
CM also mentioned revolutionary Rash Behari Bose. He had taken refuge in Japan escaping British rule and later strengthened India’s independence movement from Japan. In honor of his role in relations with Japan, he was honored with the ‘Order of the Rising Sun’.
