Monty Morre was the only son of the family.

A 22-year-old photographer died by suicide at his home in Gwalior, with a suicide note allegedly blaming his unrequited love for his sister-in-law, who was around 20 years older than him.

The deceased, identified as Monty Morre, lived in the Gaddha Wala locality of Sikandar Kampoo. He allegedly died by suicide at his home on Thursday evening.

The incident came to light when his sister, Pallavi, entered his room and found him hanging. She raised an alarm, following which family members and neighbours rushed to the spot.

Girwai police seized the suicide note and registered a case. Preliminary investigation has found that Monty, who had studied up to Class 10, was allegedly in love with his 42-year-old sister-in-law. The note reportedly mentions his failure to win her affection and his inability to be with her.

‘I cannot live without her’

The suicide note begins with the word “Sorry”. In it, Monty allegedly wrote that he was leaving his mother and sister and asked them to forgive him.

He reportedly wrote that the reason was “only Shashi” (name changed), adding that he loved her deeply and could not live without her. He allegedly said that since he could not have her, he was ending his life.

He also asked his family to tell Shashi that he loved her and always would.

“Tell her that I am no longer in this world, but no one should say anything to her because of me,” he allegedly wrote.

Police are interrogating Monty's family and relatives.

‘I want justice after my death’

Monty also wrote the woman’s mobile phone number in the suicide note and used phrases such as “my love” and “I love you”.

Towards the end of the note, he allegedly wrote that he was leaving because everyone considered him a bad person.

He also wrote, “Mummy, you used to say, ‘Go die,’ so here I am, dying.”

He then addressed Shashi directly, alleging that she had failed to understand him and held her responsible for his death.

“Shashi, you did not understand me. You are responsible for my death. I want justice after my death. Everyone else, please forgive me,” he allegedly wrote.

Police to question woman

Police said Monty was in love with his 42-year-old sister-in-law and became mentally distressed after she rejected him.

“We are investigating the matter. The woman will also be questioned,” police said.

The circumstances surrounding the relationship and the allegations made in the suicide note are being investigated.
