The murder of two brothers in the Sumawali police station area of Morena district was not a sudden incident, but was carried out under a well-thought-out conspiracy.

The family claims that the accused called six outside shooters to the village one night before the incident. They housed them in their home. As soon as the panchayat ended on Sunday morning, the shooters, who were already ambushed, opened fire indiscriminately.

According to the police, a total of 28 cartridges, 22 of .315 bore and 6 of 12 bore, have been found at the crime scene so far. Rajveer Gurjar and Ajab Singh Gurjar died on the spot in the firing, while the third brother Dheerendra Gurjar and Ajab Singh’s son Vikas are seriously injured. Both are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gwalior.

Dispute over government land took a bloody turn

On Sunday afternoon, around 12 o’clock, two factions of the same family came face to face over the encroachment of government land in Hatupura village. The dispute quickly escalated into a bloody conflict. After the incident, there is tension in the village and the police force has been deployed at the homes of the deceased as a precautionary measure.

According to the villagers, there is government land on both sides of the main road outside the village. On one side, the accused party has encroached, where they have built houses.

On the other side, the complainant party also wanted to construct. A dispute had been ongoing for a long time regarding this. Family members say that complaints were made several times at the police station and in the panchayat regarding the matter, but no permanent solution was found.

Two Panchayats in two days, then shots fired

According to the villagers, in the panchayat held on Saturday, both parties were asked to limit themselves to their respective occupied areas. Another panchayat was held on Sunday morning, and the same decision was reiterated.

The family members allege that as soon as the panchayat ended, the accused party and six goons who came with them, who were already hidden behind the roof and stone boundary, started indiscriminate firing on Rajveer, Ajab Singh, Dheerendra, and Vikas.
