Atiq Ahmed Sons Parole Granted; Funeral Rites in Prayagraj

Mafia Atiq Ahmed’s younger son Abaan will be laid to rest today, Saturday, in Prayagraj. He will be buried at 8 PM.

Atiq’s two sons, Ali and Umar, who are imprisoned, will attend their younger brother Abaan’s funeral. The Allahabad High Court granted parole to both brothers on Friday at 3:30 PM. Umar is imprisoned in Lucknow and Ali in Jhansi jail.

It may take 6-7 hours for both to reach Prayagraj from jail. In such a case, the police may take Umar and Ali from jail in the afternoon. The family has kept Abaan’s body in a deep freezer at his aunt’s house in Hatwa.

The Allahabad High Court has granted parole to both on 4 conditions. Before granting parole, the court had spoken to Umar and Ali via video conferencing. The court ordered that both be taken directly from jail to Kasari-Masari cemetery.

Both brothers have been granted permission to meet their younger brother Ahzam and their aunt Parveen Qureshi for one hour. This meeting will be conducted in the presence of police. After this, they will be taken back to jail.

The court has given instructions to the state government and UP DGP regarding the security and other arrangements for both of them.

4 conditions of the High Court that Ali and Umar will have to follow

  • Will not speak to the media.
  • Will not engage in any social media activity.
  • Will not address any public gathering.
  • Will not participate in any other event.

Atiq’s sister Parveen Qureshi had filed a petition to release Ali and Umar on parole to attend Abaan’s last rites. The bench of Justice Ajay Bhanot and DC Samant ordered the parole.

Meanwhile, BJP MLA and former minister Siddharth Nath Singh said on Abaan’s death: Atiq’s family is suffering the consequences of his actions. Two children have died. Two are in jail. The wife is absconding. God is punishing them.

Earlier, when journalists asked Deputy CM Keshav Maurya, who reached Prayagraj, about Abaan’s death, he got angry. He said – Accidents keep happening every day… what’s the big deal about this.

Abaan was going to meet his brother in jail; died in road accident

Abaan died in a road accident in Jhansi on Thursday morning. He was going from Prayagraj in a Creta car with four friends to meet his brother Ali, who is imprisoned in jail. On the highway, while trying to save an animal, the car hit the divider. In the accident, Abaan and his friend Sonu died, while three friends were injured.

The bodies of Abaan and Sonu were brought from Jhansi to Hatwa village in Prayagraj in the same ambulance at 4 am on Friday. Abaan’s aunt’s house is here. After Atiq’s house was demolished, Abaan used to live there.

Ahjam, who reached Jhansi to collect Abaan’s body, had said, “It was Allah’s possession; Allah has taken it back.” In 2023, after Asad’s encounter, Atiq’s brother Ashraf had also said the same thing. After receiving the news of his brother’s death, Ali, imprisoned in jail, did not sleep all night. He kept crying and did not eat food either.

On normal days, Ali comes out for some time to exercise and also talks to people present in the jail. But on Friday, he did not talk to anyone. By Friday afternoon, the jail officials in Jhansi had not received any orders regarding sending Ali to attend his younger brother’s final funeral. Brother Abaan used to come to Jhansi twice a week to meet Ali.

Car in which the death occurred had 16 challans in 4 years

The car in which Abaan Ahmed was sitting and which met with an accident is registered in the name of his relative Zaid. According to the Transport Department’s online portal, car number UP70 FW2432 has received 16 challans between 2022 and 2026.

Of these, 6 challans are for overspeeding. The last challan was issued on 27 June, 2026. So far, 8 fines have been paid.

Who was with Abaan? Know the relationship of all five people with Atiq family

  • There were a total of five people with Abaan Ahmed in the accident on Jhansi-Kanpur Highway. Sonu was killed along with Abaan in the accident. He was a resident of Hatwa. Abaan and Sonu were close friends. Both often used to roam around together.
  • Umar was injured in the accident. He is also a resident of Hatwa and is said to be a close relative of the Atiq family. After the bulldozer action on the houses in Chakiya, Abaan, Ahzam, and other family members were staying at Umar’s house in Hatwa. Umar used to stay with Abaan and Ahzam all the time.
  • Local people say Farooq is a friend of Ahzam. He is a resident of Mohatsinganj in Prayagraj. His father, Mohammad Farooq, worked in a PA-like role in Atiq’s office and has also been to jail. Farooq has also been to jail before.
  • Mohammad Zaid is a relative of Atiq. He is said to be the son-in-law of Atiq’s sister. Zaid also used to stay constantly with Abaan and Ahzam.
  • According to local people, Abaan, Umar and Zaid are from the same community and are also related to each other.
