A promotional reel for Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 featuring Ranvir Shorey and Anupam Kher took the internet by storm, racking up over 160 million views—but it also sparked a major controversy. It all started when netizens began trolling Shorey in the comments. While the actor initially shut down trolls with witty replies, he drew severe backlash after hurling abuses at a female user.
When confronted by a user asking how he could abuse a girl, Shorey refused to back down, replying: “How do you know their age and gender? This is the internet. Here, you get what you give. Keep your lecture to yourself.”
In another post, Ranvir Shorey wrote, they call swearing the language of Gen Z, and when we respond in the same language, it becomes swearing.
Many people are continuously asking Ranvir to apologise. On this controversy, Ranvir Shorey said in an interview given to Hindustan Times, “I respond to trolls in the same language they speak to me, and for this, I absolutely do not need to apologise. The user you are referring to is a well-known toxic and ill-mannered account. I don’t know who is actually behind that account, or what their age or gender is.
The actor further said, “For me, what matters more is the kind of language they use, not whether their profile picture shows a girl or a boy. If even a girl uses foul and abusive language, she should also be ready to hear the same kind of responses.”
Reel received 162 million views
Anupam Kher recently posted a reel from his official Instagram, in which he was seen lip-syncing with Boman Irani, Ranvir Shorey, and Praveen to a trending audio from the TikTok era. In a short time, the reel went viral, and in just five days, it received over 162 million (16.2 crore) views.
This has become one of the most-watched videos on Anupam Kher’s profile. This video was made during a lunch break on the set of Khosla Ka Ghosla 2.
Anupam Kher expressed gratitude to fans
Anupam Kher shared a BTS video and said that the team did not expect such a fantastic response to the reel. He wrote, “150 million (15 crore) views and counting. When we shot this reel, we had no idea that it would get 150 million views just on Instagram.”
He further wrote, “We made it with such seriousness and innocence, as if we were shooting the climax of the most important film of our lives.”
The actor revealed that the funniest moments of the reel were recorded spontaneously. Boman Irani’s makeup artist Amrita quietly recorded the video while discussing the artists’ rehearsals and everything related to the reel.

‘Khosla Ka Ghosla 2’ is the sequel to the 2006 comedy film ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’. This film has been directed by Prashant Bhagia.
In the sequel, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Ranvir Shorey, Parvin Dabas, and Kiran Juneja are returning as the old cast. Ravi Kishan has also joined the team of actors in an important role.
The film has been produced by Savita Raj Hiremath and Raj Hiremath along with T-Series. This sequel will present a big comic story based on the life of a middle-class family, nearly two decades after the original film.
