A policeman deployed outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence has died, with a heart attack reported as the cause of death.
According to an IANS report, a senior Mumbai Police official said that 41-year-old Constable Ganesh was deployed outside Salman Khan’s house as part of the security arrangements put in place following threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Constable Ganesh suddenly fell ill and collapsed while on duty. Fellow policemen at the spot rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police said he died of a heart attack.
Salman Khan’s residence remains under surveillance, and the actor continues to receive police protection.
Salman has Y+ security, 11 personnel deployed around the clock
Salman Khan’s security was increased in 2023 after he received threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Maharashtra government subsequently provided him with Y+ category security.
As part of the arrangement, 11 security personnel remain with the actor around the clock, including one or two commandos and two personal security officers (PSOs).
Two escort vehicles also accompany Salman’s car, with one positioned ahead and another behind. His vehicle is also fully bulletproof.
Following the firing incident at Galaxy Apartment, security measures at the residence were further strengthened. The actor’s apartment balcony was made bulletproof in January, while high-resolution cameras were installed around the building for enhanced surveillance.
The motive behind the firing was to scare Salman
The subsequent investigation revealed that the alleged motive behind the firing was to intimidate Salman Khan. The attack was reportedly carried out at the behest of the Lawrence gang.
Lawrence Bishnoi came into the spotlight following the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022. He has also openly threatened Salman Khan over the actor’s alleged involvement in the blackbuck poaching case during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain.
Two men on a bike opened fire at Galaxy Apartment in 2024
On April 14, 2024, two bike-borne men opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra. Salman was inside his home when the incident took place. Following the firing, security arrangements around the actor and his residence were further strengthened.

Last year, Salman Khan spoke to the media at a five-star hotel in Mumbai’s Bandra. During the interaction, he admitted that moving around with a large security team can sometimes become inconvenient.
However, the actor said he was not afraid of the threats and had left his safety and well-being in God’s hands.
Salman told the media, “God, Allah, everything is upon them. Whatever lifespan is destined, that much it is. That’s all. Sometimes, moving around with so many people becomes a cause of trouble.”
