In Maharashtra’s Raigad district, some schoolgirls made a video while travelling on a pothole-ridden road. In it, they were asking and answering questions like reporters. However, they had no idea that the video would receive such a huge response and that the road would be repaired.
The road leads towards Khandpe-Kondiwade in Karjat tehsil. While travelling on it, the schoolgirls questioned their friend about the poor condition of the road. The girl replied in Marathi, “This road is like the Samruddhi Mahamarg. When you travel on it, even the water in your stomach doesn’t move.”
A third student, who was recording the video on her mobile phone and acted as the cameraperon, pointed at the potholes and said, “You can’t tell whether there are potholes on the road or a road in the potholes.”
However, after the video went viral, the MLA got the potholes filled. He said that a portion of the road had been washed away due to the rain in recent days. A new road will be built after the monsoon ends.
All the students were in school uniforms, rainwater filled the road
The students making the video used an umbrella as a boom microphone. At the end of the video, one student says, “This is reporter Neha Ghare, and with her is cameraperon Mansi Pawar.”
The students’ video, made in a unique style, went viral on social media. Following this, local MLA Mahendra Thorve arranged temporary work to fill the potholes.
Shiv Sena MLA Mahendra Thorve said that a portion of the road had been washed away due to heavy rainfall.
