Prajwal Revanna Jail Porn Video Case

90 porn videos have been found in the mobile phone of former MP Prajwal Revanna, who is lodged in Bengaluru’s Central Jail. According to media reports, forensic examination of the seized phone is being conducted. Investigators are examining all video files, photos, and other digital data present in the device.

The investigation is trying to determine where the content came from, when it was downloaded, and whether it has any connection to the criminal proceedings related to Revanna.

A new FIR has been registered after the phone was found. Pratap Rai, an undertrial prisoner lodged in the same jail, has also been named in this case.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) had conducted a raid in the jail on Tuesday. Jail DGP Alok Kumar gave this information on Wednesday.

Prajwal is the son of Janata Dal (Secular) MLA HD Revanna and grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. He has been serving a life sentence since August 2025 in a rape case involving women.

Maid had accused Prajwal of rape multiple times

The 47-year-old woman working at Prajwal’s family farmhouse had filed an FIR against him in April 2024. She had accused Prajwal of raping her multiple times since 2021 and threatening to leak videos if she told anyone about the incident.

The court had completed the hearing of this case on July 18, 2025. Charges were framed against Prajwal under several sections including rape, voyeurism, criminal intimidation and leaking obscene pictures.

Prajwal was convicted by the Special Court of People’s Representatives on August 1, 2025. He was sentenced to life imprisonment the next day on August 2 and fined Rs 11.50 lakh.

Out of this, Rs 11.25 lakh was directed to be paid to the victim. Three more rape cases are pending against Prajwal. The hearing of these cases is still pending.

More than 2,000 video clips of Revanna had surfaced

Last year, more than 2,000 obscene video clips of Prajwal surfaced on social media. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prajwal contested for the second time from the Hassan parliamentary seat in Karnataka, but he could not save his MP seat. After the cases registered against him, JDS also suspended him from the party.
