Became Emraan Hashmi’s highest opening film of his career
According to industry tracker website Sacnilk, ‘Awarapan 2’ collected over ₹21 crore net on its first day of release. This has become the biggest opening film of Emraan Hashmi’s career.
‘Awarapan 2’ surpassed the entire lifetime earnings of the first film ‘Awarapan’, released in 2007, even before the first day ended. The film is on track to become one of Bollywood’s biggest opening films in 2026.
‘Awarapan 2’s gross collection has reached ₹25.20 crore. The film earned ₹2 crore overseas. Thus, its total worldwide gross earnings have reached ₹27.20 crore.
The first ‘Awarapan’, released in 2007, was a box office flop. It had collected only ₹7.76 crore in its entire lifetime earnings. ‘Awarapan 2’ took only 8 hou₹to reach this figure.
Emraan’s record for two film openings broken
Tickets for ‘Awarapan 2’ sold over 20 thousand per hour on BookMyShow on Friday. Based on the film’s current pace, it is being said that it will soon cross the 50 crore rupee mark. A jump in the film’s earnings can be seen over the weekend.
So far, only two of Emraan Hashmi’s films have had a double-digit opening. In 2012, ‘Raaz 2’ earned ₹10.35 crore on its first day. In 2017, ‘Baadshaho’ broke this record by earning ₹12.60 crore on its release day. ‘Awarapan 2’ has surpassed both these films with its opening pace.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, ‘Awarapan 2’ sees Emraan Hashmi return as his iconic character, ‘Shivam Pandit’. The film also stars Shabana Azmi, Disha Patani, and Suvinder Vicky in important roles. ‘Batwara 1947’ first-day collection
Sunny Deol’s ‘Batwara 1947’ has earned ₹5.75 crore net in India on its opening day so far. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film’s gross collection in India stands at ₹6.84 crore.
The film has earned ₹1.50 crore overseas, taking its worldwide collection to ₹8.34 crore. It is currently running in 8,721 shows across the country.
‘Partition 1947’ first-day occupancy
The Hindi 2D version of ‘Partition 1947’ recorded an overall occupancy of 10.73% on its opening day. The morning shows recorded 7.54% occupancy, which rose to 12.31% in the afternoon. The occupancy was slightly higher during the evening and night shows.

Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Batwara 1947’ is set against the backdrop of the Partition of India. Sunny Deol plays the role of Sikandar Mirza in the film. The cast also includes Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Mithun Chakraborty, Rukhsar Rehman, and Dia Mirza.
Under Aamir Khan Productions, Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit have produced the film. The film’s music is by AR Rahman, and the lyrics for the songs have been written by Javed Akhtar.
