The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has accused the central government of failing to fulfil assurances made to students and protesters following the party’s agitation over the NEET paper leak and alleged irregularities in the examination.
The party’s national executive committee is scheduled to meet today to discuss the issue. CJP said assurances to withdraw FIRs registered against students and protesters and provide compensation to families of NEET victims who died by suicide have not been fulfilled.
CJP founder Abhijit Deepke has also written to the education ministers of all states, seeking details of steps being taken to improve government schools.
The party had launched an agitation at Jantar Mantar on June 20, demanding action over the alleged NEET paper leak and irregularities in the examination. The protest was called off on July 25 after the government gave assurances.
CJP raises issue of FIRs
CJP said the Supreme Court had sought a complete list of FIRs registered against students and protesters from the Centre on August 18. According to the party, the court could have considered quashing the cases under Article 142 of the Constitution.
The party alleged that the Centre did not show a clear commitment to providing the list of FIRs, which it said indicated that the government was backtracking on assurances given before the agitation was withdrawn.

‘Will not back down until promises are fulfilled’
CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ratna Singh said the government must fulfil the commitments made after the protest ended. They demanded the withdrawal of all FIRs against students and protesters and an end to action against those who participated in peaceful demonstrations.
CJP seeks action over alleged violence in Jaipur
Meanwhile, an alleged incident of violence against CJP workers surfaced during the party’s ‘Fix Our Schools’ campaign in Rampura-Kanwarpura village in Jaipur.
CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka demanded that the Rajasthan government take action on the FIR and arrest those allegedly involved in the violence.
Ranka said that if evidence is found against CJP workers, the party would also face legal action. The party has demanded a fair investigation into the incident.
