Madhya Pradesh’s Chitrakoot: The Mandakini River is flowing around 2 metres above the danger mark. Around 400 shops and 20–25 hotels in Ramghat have been submerged. Alerts have been issued for 36 villages.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur, heavy rain caused flooding in a seasonal river. Bridges and roads were submerged. Meanwhile, in Chitrakoot, the Mandakini River is flowing above knee level. Water has entered 500 shops and 20–25 hotels.
In Bihar’s Patna, heavy rain on Tuesday caused waterlogging in several areas. The weather department has issued an orange alert for rain in 14 districts, including Patna.
In Uttarakhand, 11 people died in rain-related incidents on Tuesday. In view of the heavy rain alert, all schools and Anganwadi centres in Nainital, Almora and Bageshwar will remain closed today.
