Ameesha Patel Parents Mumbai Home Theft; Domestic Help Arrested in Virar

A theft case involving Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel’s family has come to light. Gold and diamond jewellery worth around ₹5 lakh was allegedly stolen from her parents’ home in Mumbai’s Churchgate area. Following the complaint, Marine Drive police arrested 40-year-old domestic help Seema Vinod Ghate. Police apprehended her in Virar, and an investigation is underway to recover the stolen jewellery.

Jewellery stolen from Churchgate home

According to an IANS report, Ameesha Patel and her brother Ashmit Patel’s parents live in Mumbai’s Churchgate area. A complaint was filed after gold and diamond jewellery worth around ₹5 lakh was allegedly stolen from the house. Ameesha’s mother, Asha Patel, lodged the complaint with the police.

Domestic help accused of theft

Police have arrested 40-year-old Seema Vinod Ghate in connection with the case. She worked as a domestic help at Ameesha Patel’s parents’ home and had reportedly been working there for around one and a half years.

Jewellery allegedly stolen in January

According to the police investigation, the jewellery was allegedly stolen in January 2026. Ameesha’s mother suspected the domestic help and had reportedly been asking her for around five to six months to admit to the theft and return the jewellery.

Complaint led to police investigation

When the jewellery was not returned, Asha Patel approached Marine Drive police and filed a complaint. Police registered an FIR and initially booked the case against an unidentified woman. The Crime Detection Team later took over the investigation.

Accused arrested in Virar

During the investigation, police traced Seema Ghate to Virar. She was apprehended and arrested after questioning. She was produced before a court, which remanded her to police custody until September 15.

Stolen jewellery not yet recovered

According to the police, the stolen jewellery is yet to be recovered. The investigation team is trying to find out where the jewellery allegedly stolen is located. The accused’s previous criminal record is also being investigated.

Case linked to Amisha Patel’s family

The theft at Amisha Patel’s parents’ home has brought her family into the spotlight. At present, the police investigation is primarily focused on recovering the stolen jewellery and clarifying the circumstances of the entire case.

Amisha Patel’s Bollywood career

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel made her acting debut alongside Hrithik Roshan in the 2000 film ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’. The romantic thriller was a major hit, and Ameesha became an overnight star.

She went on to work in several hit and superhit films, including ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Humraaz’, ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and ‘Race 2’. Ameesha Patel returned to the big screen in 2023 with the film ‘Gadar 2’.
