What is Lumbar Spine Surgery?
According to Spine-Health and Cleveland Clinic, the lumbar spine refers to the five vertebrae located in the lower back.
These vertebrae serve to support the body’s weight, assist in movement, and protect the essential structures of the spine.
Lumbar spine surgery may involve repairing, removing, or modifying structures in the lower back.
This surgery can be performed to treat a specific spinal problem. Depending on the issue, it can help reduce pain, weakness, or numbness caused by pressure on the nerves.
