National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said India’s generosity and tolerance should not be mistaken for weakness. He said India can take risks and launch strong strikes without worrying about the consequences.
Doval made these remarks in Discovery’s upcoming documentary series ‘Declassified: Operation Sindoor’.
The operation lasted 88 hours and aimed to destroy enemy camps, particularly those responsible for the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
This is Doval’s first interview about the operation. He said, “We decided that the operation aimed to destroy enemy camps, especially those responsible for the Pahalgam attack.”
Documentary to be released at 9 PM on January 15
Discovery said in a statement that the two-part documentary series will reveal the decisions and events linked to Operation Sindoor. It will feature India’s military and national security leadership.
The series will also include first-hand accounts from people who monitored India’s response. Doval will explain the decisions behind the military action and India’s resolve.
‘Declassified: Operation Sindoor’ will premiere at 9 PM on Saturday on the Discovery Channel and streaming service discovery+.
6 May 2025: Army targeted nine terror sites in PoK
Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian armed forces carried out precision strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The Indian government said more than 100 terrorists were killed in the strikes.
On May 10, after talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan, both countries agreed to stop their military operations.
Several Pakistani airbases were damaged in India’s airstrikes
India also struck several Pakistani airbases during Operation Sindoor. Private company Maxar released satellite images showing the damaged airbases.
The airbases shown in Maxar’s images included Sargodha, Nur Khan, Bholari and Sukkur. The images showed the condition of the sites before and after the strikes.
Army said where the airstrikes were carried out
On the morning of May 7, 2025, the Army said it had identified and destroyed nine targets in Pakistan and PoK. Launch pads and training centres were targeted. They included:
- Sawai Nala training centre in Muzaffarabad: The Lashkar-e-Taiba facility was reportedly used to train terrorists involved in attacks in Sonamarg, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
- Syedna Bilal camp in Muzaffarabad: Weapons, explosives and jungle survival training were reportedly provided here.
- Gurpur camp in Kotli: The Lashkar camp was reportedly used to train terrorists involved in the 2023 attack on pilgrims in Poonch.
- Barnala camp in Bhimber: Training in the use of weapons was reportedly provided here.
- Abbas camp in Kotli: Located around 13 km from the Line of Control (LoC), the camp was reportedly used to prepare suicide attackers.
- Sarjal camp in Sialkot: Terrorists accused of killing police personnel in March 2025 were reportedly trained here.
- Hizbul’s Mahmuna Jaya camp in Sialkot: The Pathankot attack was reportedly planned at this camp.
- Markaz Taiba camp in Muridke: Ajmal Kasab and David Coleman Headley were reportedly trained here.
- Masjid Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur: It was described as a Jaish headquarters where recruitment and training were carried out, and senior officials reportedly visited.
