Salman Khan Films shared a social media post marking the 11th anniversary of Hero. Released in 2015, the film marked the Bollywood debuts of Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty.
Amaal Mallik questions missing credit
Music composer Amaal Mallik expressed his displeasure in the comments section of Salman Khan Films’ official social media account. He criticised the production house for leaving out the composer and lyricist while celebrating the song.
Said creators’ contribution should be acknowledged
Amaal wrote, “Whoever has handled this page or social media, I love the audacity with which you have left out the composer and lyricist of the song.”
He further said that celebrating a song without mentioning its creators did not seem right. He pointed out that the song was created through the hard work and dedication of the composer and lyricist, whose contribution should be respected and acknowledged.
Amal advised the team to learn the basics. He wrote, “Learn to do the basic things, or delete this page.”
Amal also appealed to the team not to remove his comment. He wrote, “Do not delete my comment. Let Salman sir see it too, so that he knows you have made a mistake.”
The soundtrack for the film ‘Hero’ was composed by Amal Malik, Meet Bros Anjjan, Sachin-Jigar and Jassi Katyal.
However, after Amal Malik’s comment, the Salman Khan Films team corrected its mistake. It ‘edited’ the post, tagged Amal Malik’s official Instagram account, and gave him and lyricist Kumaar their due credit.
Salman gave Amal Malik his break
Salman Khan has contributed to Amal Malik’s career. In 2014, Salman gave Amal his break in Bollywood as a music composer with his film ‘Jai Ho’.
After this, in 2015, Amal Malik composed the music for ‘Hero’, a film produced by Salman Khan’s production house. The film’s song “Main Hoon Hero Tera” became a blockbuster. It was originally sung by Amal’s brother Armaan Malik, and later Salman Khan himself also recorded a special version of it in his own voice.
Amal had described himself as a big SRK fan
During a fan chat in 2020, Amaal described himself as a big Shah Rukh Khan fan and called himself an ‘SRKian’. After this, some of Salman Khan’s fans trolled him on social media. They threatened to unfollow him and even said they would end his career. Amaal responded to this.
He said that respecting Salman did not mean he would tolerate abuse or blind devotion. He also made it clear that Salman had launched him and that he would always respect him.
Nearly five years later, Amaal and Salman came face to face again. On 24 August 2025, Amaal entered ‘Bigg Boss 19’ as a contestant. The show was hosted by Salman Khan.
Announces break from film music
Earlier, last month, Amal announced that he was taking a break from composing film music. He clarified that the break would apply to new film music.
He also said that some of his older unreleased songs could reach audiences when those films are released in theatres.
Amal wrote on X, “I am absolutely fine. This time, I will do exactly what is necessary for me and my heart. It is necessary for my health too.”
He further wrote, “I need a break to recover completely – mentally, physically and spiritually. I need to return after getting better soon. I want to come back with plenty of melodies for all of you, my beloved fans. #Amaalians”
