Asha Singh Jaiswal Passes Away

Veteran actress and India’s first female mimicry artist, Asha Singh Jaiswal, has passed away. She breathed her last on August 22 at around 7:30 pm.

Her son, Akash Bhardwaj, shared the news through a social media post. Describing his mother as a “hardworking iron lady,” he appealed to people to pray for her soul.

Asha Singh Jaiswal’s last rites were performed on August 23 at 10 am at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai.

Asha Singh Jaiswal’s son, Akash Bhardwaj, remembered his mother and her work in an Instagram post. He wrote that his mother’s work meant everything to her.

Akash appealed to people to watch and remember his mother’s work on social media so that her soul may rest in peace. He also wrote that his mother believed in celebrating life and finding joy rather than mourning death.

Recognised as India’s first female mimicry artist

Asha Singh Jaiswal is considered India’s first female mimicry artist. She became known for mimicking the voice of legendary Hindi cinema actress Meena Kumari.

Apart from mimicry, she also acted in several projects and remained actively involved in social work throughout her career.

Cremation took place in Vile Parle, Mumbai

According to reports, Asha Singh Jaiswal’s last rites were performed on August 23 at 10 am at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle West, Mumbai. Her family members and close relatives were present during the cremation.

Asha Singh Jaiswal was also an entrepreneur and founded a company called Asha Events & Films. Through the company, she organised several cultural events and remained actively connected with her work until the last days of her life.
