Bengaluru Youth Asfaul Mallick Arrested for TTP Terror Plot

Bengaluru police have detained Asafool Mallik, a 25-year-old from West Bengal, accused of conspiring to carry out attacks in India and Pakistan in collaboration with a member of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

According to the police, Mallik wanted to join TTP and carry out attacks against the Pakistani army. He was apprehended in Bengaluru’s Jigani area due to suspicious online activities and alleged contacts with terrorist organizations.

Contact with an Afghan individual on Facebook

Police claim that Mallik had previously contacted an individual named Imran Haider from Afghanistan on Facebook. Imran Haider is suspected of being associated with the TTP.

Mallik had sought help from Imran Haider to go to Afghanistan and had also applied for a visa for this purpose. However, Mallik later broke contact with Imran due to financial difficulties.

Mobile phone investigation revealed records of chats, several voice calls, and audio conversations between him and Imran Haider.

Was angry about the atrocities being committed against Muslims in Pakistan

Police said that during patrolling in Bommasandra Industrial Area, they received information about the suspicious activities of a person from West Bengal. Following this, the policemen interrogated Malik.

According to the police, during interrogation, Malik stated that he was angry about the atrocities being committed against Muslims in Pakistan. He believed that the Pakistani army was attacking mosques and common people.

Malik had also expressed displeasure over Pakistan’s stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Police say that he was being incited to retaliate if Muslims faced problems in India.
