CBI Files Charge Sheet | Twisha Sharma Murder Case Investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today, August 17, filed a 636-page charge sheet in the Twisha Sharma death case before the CBI court.

The development comes after the special court directed the CBI to complete its investigation and submit its report by August 17.

A case has been registered against Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, under Sections 80(2), 85, 108 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

While Samarth is a lawyer, his mother Giribala is a former district judge. Twisha’s family has alleged mental abuse, physical violence, and dowry-related torture on Twisha by the duo.

Twisha died within five months of marriage

Twisha married Samarth Singh on 9 December 2025, and died on the night of 12–13 May 2026 — meaning she lost her life around five months after the wedding. Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh have been named accused in the case, and both have been sent to jail.
