Three people, including a couple and their son, died in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Friday. An 18-year-old boy had gone to a mountain in an apparent suicide attempt.
While trying to save him, his father fell into a gorge and died.
After seeing her husband and son die in front of her, the mother also jumped from the mountain. The incident took place at Khawadya mountain in the Tisgaon area.
The reason why the boy took the step is not yet known. Police are investigating the incident.

People kept trying to convince the boy for 3 hours
According to former Tisgaon Sarpanch Sanjay Jadhav, Kunal had been on the mountain since around 10 am. People continuously tried to convince him to come down.
They asked Kunal to return and even offered to give him a mobile phone. However, Kunal was extremely distressed and kept saying that he had no other option left.
Father lost his balance, mother jumped, all three died
Kunal’s father reached him during the last 15–20 minutes and tried to calm him down. However, Kunal suddenly jumped from the mountain.
His father tried to catch him but lost his balance, and both fell into a deep ravine and died.
After seeing her husband and son fall into the ravine in front of her, Kunal’s mother, Sangeeta, was devastated. She also jumped from the cliff and died.
Fire brigade personnel laid a trap, but the boy changed direction
Realising the seriousness of the situation, fire brigade personnel placed a large safety net at the foot of the mountain to rescue the young man.
However, the young man, who was standing at the top of the mountain, kept changing direction.
