Two cars collided near the PWD office in Delhi on Sunday. Six people, including two MLAs, were injured. They include sitting Kirari MLA Anil Jha and Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil.
According to police, the accident took place at around 9:30 pm. The car travelling from Laxmi Nagar towards ITO first hit the divider, then crossed the railing and collided with an oncoming Innova.
The car was being driven by 32-year-old Ashutosh Pandey. His wife and two minor children were also in the car, while Anil Jha and Abhay Patil were travelling in the Innova.

MLAs from Delhi and Karnataka were traveling in an Innova car. The car also had Karnataka Government written on it.
The other car broke through the divider railing and came to the other side.
The front part of the car was completely smashed.
MLA Anil Jha from AAP party, was previously in BJP
Anil Jha is 50 years old and is a political leader and advocate by profession.
Anil Jha is an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Delhi’s Kirari Assembly constituency. He defeated BJP’s Bajrang Shukla by 21,871 votes in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.
He holds an MA in Library Science from IGNOU. According to his available election affidavit, his declared assets in 2025 were around ₹4.33 crore.
BJP’s Abhay Patil is MLA from Belagavi for the fourth time
Abhay Patil first contested assembly elections on a BJP ticket in 1999, but lost. In 2004, he won from Hayer Bagewadi on a BJP ticket and became an MLA for the first time.
Abhay Patil is a BJP MLA from the Belagavi South Assembly constituency in Karnataka. He was elected to the Assembly from this seat for the fourth consecutive time in 2023. He had earlier served as an MLA in 2004–07, 2008–13 and 2018–23.
According to the official profile of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, he was born in Belagavi in 1969. He is associated with agriculture and social service. His education includes SSLC and a National Trade Certificate.
