Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that in films, actors like Anil Kapoor can become Chief Minister for a day, but in real life, becoming a Chief Minister is not that easy.
He said that the strength of India’s Constitution and democracy is such that a person who never even imagined becoming a councillor can become Chief Minister. Similarly, a boy selling tea at a railway station in Gujarat can become the Prime Minister of the country.
If a person sets a goal with complete dedication, democracy and the Constitution can give him the opportunity to become Chief Minister and no one can stop him.
Indian cricketer Tilak Varma also joined Fadnavis’s youth program. The CM honored him.
Fadnavis said- They thought he would always remain in opposition
Recalling his early political days, Fadnavis said that he entered politics due to ideological commitment. At that time his party was in opposition.
Fadnavis said that he felt he would perhaps always do opposition politics, but the public trusted him. After that he gradually moved forward step by step and one day he got the responsibility of becoming the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Spent 18 days in jail at the age of 20
The Chief Minister also shared his experiences during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He said that at the age of 20, he had gone from Prayagraj to Ayodhya. There, lathi-charge was done on the protesters, firing took place, and he was arrested.
According to Fadnavis, he spent 18 days in Badaun Central Jail. After returning from jail, he joined the movement again. He said that he was also present when the Babri Masjid structure was demolished in 1992 and he is proud of it.
‘A child from a Tier-3 city will get full support for startups’
On a question related to promoting startups in the state, Fadnavis said that the government has prepared a policy for the startup ecosystem. Under this, funds have been created and incubation centers have been established.
He said that if a child from a Tier-3 city comes with an idea and wants to convert it into a commercial product, the government will give him full help and 100% support.
