Govinda-Sunita Ahuja Controversy | Somy Ali Supports Actor; Mumbai News

Govinda has been in the news following comments made by his wife, Sunita Ahuja, about his recent appearances with his younger co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Sunita had questioned why Govinda was spending time with a girl who was around the age of his daughter and also made remarks about her appearance and alleged relationship with the actor.

Now, Govinda’s former co-star Somy Ali has come out in his support. Sharing old pictures with the actor, Somy said that age should not become a reason to question an actor’s professional choices.

Somy Ali says talent has no age

Somy described Govinda as one of the most talented and humble actors she worked with during her time in the Hindi film industry. She said she has great respect for both Govinda and Sunita.

She added that an actor working with a younger actress should not be seen as age discrimination. According to Somy, “Talent has no age,” and an actor’s ability should not be judged by their age or the age of their co-star.

Somy Ali worked with Govinda in the 1995 film Andolan.

Somy also said that when an artist gets an opportunity to work at a time when finding work can be difficult, that opportunity should be respected rather than mocked.

“Just because someone is old, their age should not be used as a weapon against them, especially when they are trying to earn a living and continue doing the work they love,” she said.

Govinda tells Sunita to ‘stay within limits’

The controversy began after Sunita made remarks about Govinda being seen with Komal Rani Swarnkar, his co-star in his upcoming comeback film Roopa.

Sunita had said that Govinda was “roaming around with a girl the age of his daughter” and suggested that he should be ashamed of it. She also referred to the younger actress in connection with the term “sugar daddy” and criticised her dressing style.

Govinda later responded to these comments and asked Sunita to stay within limits. Defending his co-star, he said that younger actors and actresses have worked with established stars for years and that such collaborations can also help actors appear youthful.

He also criticised the way Sunita had spoken about people from less privileged backgrounds. Govinda said that having fame, wealth and respect does not give anyone the right to humiliate people who have less.

Govinda objects to Sunita’s language

Govinda also expressed disappointment over the language Sunita had allegedly been using while speaking about him and others.

He said that Sunita had started using abusive language involving family members and questioned what would happen if others began following the same example. He said such comments could make people ashamed and that he did not expect this from her.

Why was Sunita upset with Komal?

Govinda was recently spotted with Komal at the airport. Sunita had earlier spoken about the rumours surrounding Govinda and said that hearing such things about her husband at the age of 63 was not appropriate.

In an interview with Miss Malini, she also said that she disliked the name Komal and made it clear that she was unhappy about the situation.

Govinda, meanwhile, has defended Komal and praised her acting abilities. At a press conference for Roopa in July, he introduced her to the media and said that audiences would appreciate her performance after watching the film.

Govinda is making a comeback after seven years

Govinda is reportedly making his Bollywood comeback after a seven-year break with Roopa. Komal is also being introduced through the project, which is being backed by Govinda’s production house. There are also reports that she could appear with him in another film, Duniyadari.

Govinda has also responded to questions about his relationship with Sunita. Speaking to ANI, he said that Sunita may make strong comments about him, but he still respects her and believes that both of them have played an important role in each other’s lives.

He also questioned whether making allegations is necessary to create distance between two people, saying that people often consider it an easy way out.

She abuses me very lovingly, and I even eat from her hands. I believe that if the people who are where they are, and whatever role God has given them, were not there, we couldn’t have succeeded.
