The monsoon trough, cyclonic circulation and a low-pressure area have created a strong weather system, keeping the spell of rain going in Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen and Shajapur received heavy rain on Monday. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is likely across the state till August 27.
Heavy rain is also lashing Gurugram in Haryana. A red alert for rain has been issued for Tuesday as well. In view of the weather, all offices, government and private schools, and other institutions have been advised to allow their employees and staff to work from home on Tuesday.
Several parts of North India received heavy rain on Monday. Due to bad weather in Delhi-NCR, 15 flights were diverted from Delhi Airport, 25 were cancelled and 380 were delayed. A yellow alert for heavy rain has also been issued for Tuesday.
In Uttar Pradesh, four people died in rain-related incidents across 65 cities on Monday. In Mathura, heavy rain flooded roads and residential areas. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain across the state today as well.
