A new revelation has emerged about the deaths of the father, son and mother in the Maharashtra hill tragedy. It was earlier reported that the son, Kunal, died by suicide over an iPhone. However, Kunal’s aunt Pallavi denied this.
Pallavi said the incident was not related to a mobile phone. People should not spread such rumours, she said, adding that people do not know the facts.
India Today, quoting the family, reported that Kunal wanted his parents to stay together. However, it is not clear whether they were divorced.
Meanwhile, DCP Pankaj Atulkar said there had been a dispute in the family for the past two to three months, which had created a stressful situation.
Sangeeta had more than 29,000 followers on YouTube. She also posted short vlogs with her son.
A day before the tragedy, mother posted a video about relationships on YouTube
Sangeeta Chandgude, who died along with her son on August 21, had posted a video on her YouTube channel a day before the tragedy, highlighting the importance of relationships and love. In it, she said that there was no point in doing anything for a person who does not value love.
Kunal’s parents had a property dispute and lived separately
According to Sangeeta’s maternal family, Murlidhar and Sangeeta had been involved in a dispute for a long time. This also included property-related disputes. The family said Kunal wanted the differences between his parents to end.

Kunal Remained Standing on the Edge of the Hill for 4 Hours
Kunal climbed the hill at around 10 a.m. He kept changing his location repeatedly.
Sanjay, an eyewitness to the incident and the village’s former sarpanch, said, “Kunal stood on a high rock on the hill from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. He kept changing his location repeatedly. His father tried to persuade him, while his mother also continuously pleaded with her son through tears to come down, but he was unwilling to listen to anyone.”
He said, “I also tried to reason with him, telling him that he was educated and should not take such a step, but it had no effect on him. Kunal’s younger brother had also died four years ago. After this accident, the entire family was devastated.”
Kunal’s father reached the part of the hill where he was standing. He tried to pull his son back, but they both lost their balance and fell into the deep ravine.
The father tried to grab his son and pull him toward himself to save him, but was unsuccessful, and both fell down.
The rescue team had spread a net below, but the attempt failed because Kunal kept changing positions. Both fell in the other direction.
The Mother Also Jumped from the Hill
After witnessing this scene, mother Sangeeta also jumped down from the hill a few moments later.
The police recovered all three bodies. Local residents were also present at the scene.
