To strengthen India’s defence capabilities, an indigenous Carrier Multi-Drone Mothership System has been developed. Private company AndroAir has developed it in collaboration with state-owned defence company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).
The drone is capable of surveillance, target identification and destroying enemy positions. It can also carry out attacks without GPS. From search and detection to destruction, it will assist the military.
Swarm operation: Helps the military from search and detection to destruction
The system can deploy multiple drones simultaneously in the air. Alakh-S drones search for and monitor targets. Information is then quickly shared between the mothership and the smaller drones. On receiving information from Alakh, the drones can attack enemy positions.
Two variants of Alakh micro-UAV
The Alakh micro-UAV has two variants. Alakh-S is used for surveillance and target identification, while Alakh-K is capable of attacking targets. A carrier system has been fitted with 20 units, including the helicopter-like mothership. The Carrier-6 is equipped with six Alakh micro-drones.
