Kangana Ranaut Replies To Janmashtami Bhog Video Controversy

Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut shared a video of herself preparing ‘bhog’ at her Manali home on Janmashtami. Soon after, an X user questioned whether she had even switched on the gas while cooking. The user also pointed out that the utensil she was using already appeared black.

Kangana explains how the bhog was prepared

Responding to the comment, Kangana clarified that she was not making halwa but bhog. She explained that several parts of the dish are prepared separately and then mixed together at this stage. She added that the mixture is then allowed to cool before being cut into pieces.

Says, ‘focus on eating, don’t worry about cooking’

Kangana then took a dig at the user and wrote, “One cannot expect those who are a burden on their parents and this earth to know how to cook. You just focus on eating, don’t worry about cooking.”

Kangana often shares glimpses of her personal life during festivals. This time, she gave fans a look at the Janmashtami celebrations and bhog preparation at her Manali home.

Kangana recently confronted officials over MP funds

Kangana’s response came a day after another video of her went viral from a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting. During the meeting, the Mandi MP questioned officials over the non-utilisation of MP funds.

She asked the BDOs to stand up and said she was unable to answer questions about the issue in the national media. Kangana added, “People are making reels. They are calling me idle.”

She said-

The MP’s job is to provide funds; the responsibility to spend them lies with the officials. Officials should not attend meetings just for the sake of formality, but should also work on the decisions taken in previous meetings. She questioned why the issues discussed in the last meeting had not been acted upon yet.

She stated that merely making suggestions and plans will not suffice. It is necessary to implement them. Not even half of the 11 crore rupees has been utilized yet. You people just come here to collect your salaries.

Why waste time if there is no progress?

Kangana Ranaut questioned why the same issues were being discussed in every meeting without any progress. She said decisions should be followed by action.

Are suggestions actually being implemented?

She said suggestions were useful only when they were implemented. According to her, officials needed to move to the next stage to understand the challenges and find solutions.

Whole country is watching Mandi

Kangana said the entire country was watching the performance of the Mandi constituency. Referring to reports of irregularities, she said such incidents were unacceptable and asked the BDOs responsible for poor MPLAD implementation to stand up.

They are calling me idle, what should I say?

Kangana said reports claimed she had allocated ₹11 crore but no work had been completed. She questioned what she should tell the media when such reports were circulating.

Funds have been released but work has not started

Kangana said only a small portion of the ₹11 crore had been spent and less than ₹1 crore had been used in two years. She alleged that some people had received funds but had not started the work due to lack of land or permissions.

Some completed works are not reflected

She said some works had been completed, but the details were not updated and funds were still lying in accounts. Kangana questioned why officials were holding meetings if they were not pushing the work forward.
