It was raining medals for India in Glasgow on Saturday as Preeti Pawar and Jaismine Lamboria won twin gold medals in 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Praveen Chithravel won the silver medal for the country in the men’s triple jump final, while his compatriot Selva Prabhu Thirumaran won the bronze medal.
On Saturday, Indian athletes will compete in boxing, athletics, para-athletics, judo, track cycling, and lawn bowls. A total of 44 gold medal events will be held throughout the day. These include 19 athletics-para-athletics, 14 boxing, 6 track-para track cycling, and 5 judo finals.
India’s medal tally rises to 27
India’s medal tally rises to 24 after Preeti Pawar won the country the sixth gold medal for Commonwealth Games 2026.
India’s 10 medals confirmed in boxing
India’s campaign will begin at 3:30 PM with Preeti Pawar’s women’s 54 kg final. Following this, Jasmin Lamboria (57 kg) at 3:45 PM and Jadumani Singh (55 kg) at 4:15 PM will compete for gold.
At 9 PM, Sakshi Chaudhary 51 kg, at 9:15 PM Priya Ghanghas 60 kg, at 9:30 PM Arundhati Chaudhary 70 kg, at 10:15 PM Lovlina Borgohain 75 kg, at 10:45 PM Sachin Siwach 60 kg, at 11:15 PM, Ankush Panghal 80 kg, and at 11:45 PM Narender Barwal in 90+ kg category will play their final matches.
Hope for medals in athletics and para athletics too
At 2:35 PM, Shubham Juyal and Soman Rana will compete in the Men’s Shotput F-57 Final. After this, at 2:40 PM, Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu Thirumaran will participate in the Men’s Triple Jump. Then at 2:50 PM, Ramesh Shanmugam will compete in the Men’s 1500m T-54, and at 3 PM, Priyanka Goswami and Raveena Gaikwad will play the Women’s 10,000m Race Walk Final.
At 11:35 PM, Dev Meena and Kuldeep Kumar will compete in the Men’s Pole Vault Final. Following this, at 12:15 AM, Gulveer Singh will compete in the Men’s 5000m, and at 1:50 AM, India’s Mixed 4x400m Relay team will challenge for a medal.
Competitions in judo and track cycling as well
In Judo, Unnati Sharma, Karanjeet Singh Maan, Harsh Tokas, and Inunganbi Takhellambam will play their respective opening matches. If they win, they will advance to the next round.
In Track Cycling, at 4:19 PM, Dinesh Kumar and Harshveer Singh Sekhon will compete in the Men’s 10km Scratch Race Qualifying. If they qualify, both will play the final at 10:50 PM.
Lawn Bowls: match against England
In Lawn Bowls, at 3:50 PM, the Indian pair of Navneet Singh and Dinesh Kumar will face England in the Men’s Pairs Sectional Play. If they qualify, the same pair will play the semi-final at 11:45 PM.
Meanwhile, at 10:20 AM, Nayanmoni Saikia will face South Africa’s Bridget Herselman in the women’s singles sectional play.
