
In Maharashtra’s Nagpur, a husband beat his wife after she refused to cook. She died while undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident took place at their home in Jhingabai Takli on Thursday night. The accused has been identified as Krishnakant Yadav.
According to the police, Krishnakant returned home at 9:45 p.m. He asked his wife, Yamini, to cook food for him and the children. Yamini was preparing to leave for dance practice ahead of the Ganeshotsav celebrations.
She refused to cook, following which a heated argument broke out between the two. The police have arrested the husband on charges of murder.
Punched his wife and threw her on the bed
According to the police, Krishnakant grabbed Yamini by the neck during the argument. He punched her several times and threw her onto the bed.
When Yamini complained of feeling uneasy, Krishnakant went out to get medicines.
When her condition deteriorated, Krishnakant took Yamini to the hospital. Doctors there declared her dead.
Fractures and intestinal injuries found in postmortem report
The postmortem report revealed a fracture in the neck bone and severe damage to the intestines. The report also found signs of strangulation and serious abdominal injuries.
Couple had moved to Nagpur from UP a year ago
Krishnakant and Yamini had moved to Nagpur from Uttar Pradesh about a year ago. Krishnakant worked for an insurance company, while Yamini was a housewife. They have a son and a daughter.
