The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Centre to examine the institutionalisation of the entire NEET process, stressing that a permanent and robust system is essential for conducting the examination.
A bench of Justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe said they would visit the newly upgraded facility of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to examine its systems and functioning.
The Centre informed the court that a panel led by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, constituted to suggest structural reforms in the NEET process, has held extensive consultations.
The government told the Supreme Court that the panel’s interim report on NEET reforms is expected to be submitted by the end of September.
