Salman Khan recently lashed out at paparazzi and trolls on the Weekend Ka Vaar episode of reality show Bigg Boss 20. He was angered by paparazzi capturing and posting videos from inappropriate angles, including back shots, and urged women to take action. Following his forthright statement, several people from the film industry have come out in his support.
Actress Neha Dhupia had publicly reprimanded the paparazzi at an event some time ago for posting back shots. Now, after Salman’s statement, Neha writes, “The tiger is alive.”
Varun Dhawan released a video in support of Salman. He posted a video on his official social media account in which he can be seen expressing his happiness at watching Salman along with his father, David Dhawan.
Director Kunal Kohli wrote that Salman Khan deserved praise. He said Khan had made very important points about people’s behaviour on social media, trolling, the paparazzi and those who encourage such behaviour. And when Bhai speaks, no one is left with anything to say.
Former Bigg Boss contestant said – Salman is a hypocrite
After Salman’s statement came to light, British model, singer and actress Sofia Hayat, who was a contestant on Bigg Boss 7, called Salman a hypocrite. Sharing a clip of Salman, she wrote, “Salman is a hypocritical and foolish person. When I was on Bigg Boss, he criticised my body and face, while he told Gauahar that her body was good.”
What was Salman Khan’s statement?
In the Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman strongly condemned those who trolled Katrina Kaif over her weight, his brother Sohail’s face and Sunny Deol’s torn shoes. During the episode, speaking about actresses being filmed and posts being made from inappropriate angles, he said, “There is a new trend these days. When someone is getting out of a car, the camera is here (at the waist), and when they are getting into the car, the camera is here too, so that they can get a shot of the hips and a shot of the legs. After that, a shot is also taken from behind, which no actress or woman likes.”
He said that some women may be comfortable with such pictures, but the question concerns the women who do not like them. Salman mentioned actress Sai Manjrekar, Neha Dhupia and his niece during the episode.
Salman went on to say why photographs of women are taken from behind and captions such as “Guess who this is” are then added to them.
Salman said-Post shots of your mothers and sisters on social media
Salman said women who feel uncomfortable with such photographs should object to them. In a sharp remark, he said, “Wherever this happens, turn around and slap them. Tell them to take shots of your mothers and sisters and show them to us. Post them on social media. Take a shot of their thighs.”
Salman asked who had given such people press cards and why they had such a mindset. In anger, Salman took off his shirt on stage, showed his stomach and said that anyone could troll him now. Salman also said that he had been trolled some time ago for being called bald, although it was actually the look for his upcoming film. He had also lost a friend some time ago.
When has Salman Khan previously lost his temper with the paparazzi?
Salman Khan has lost his temper with the paparazzi on previous occasions in the past few months. Earlier this month, on 5 September, during the shooting of the premiere episode of Bigg Boss 20, a paparazzo called him “Baba”, while some people were coming into the middle of the frame.
Upset by this, Salman glared at the paparazzi and said, “You won’t tell me… I don’t need to come in front of the camera; this isn’t my job.” He also instructed the paparazzi to maintain their distance from the stage.

Earlier, on 19 May, Salman went to the hospital to meet someone close to him. As soon as he came out, the paparazzi began calling out to him to take pictures. Seeing the commotion, Salman got angry and lashed out at them. After the incident, Salman also shared a cryptic post on social media.
Some time later, when Salman arrived at the success party for Ritesh Deshmukh’s film Raja Shivaji, the paparazzi surrounded him and apologised.

Malaika Arora had reprimanded the paparazzi
A video of Malaika Arora had gone viral recently, in which she appeared to be angry with the paparazzi. In fact, after an event, Malaika was speaking to someone, but instead of giving her privacy, the paparazzi continued filming her. Seeing this, the actress lost her temper and said, “Come over here.”
