In the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh, an active strong system has created flood-like situations in several districts including Dindori, Panna, Rewa, Satna, and Chhatarpur. Rivers like Narmada and Mandakini are flowing above the danger mark. On Saturday, a heavy rain alert has been issued for 16 districts including Niwari, Tikamgarh, and Chhatarpur.
Continuous rainfall is occurring in UP. Six rivers including Ganga and Ghaghra are flowing above the danger mark. 13 districts are in the grip of floods. More than one lakh people are affected. In Chitrakoot, the water of Mandakini river has reached residential areas. Boats are plying on the roads.
In Uttarakhand, continuous rainfall has been ongoing for the past five days. According to the Meteorological Department, a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for Dehradun, Tehri, Bageshwar, Nainital, and Pithoragarh on Saturday. 107 roads are closed in the state and 43 people have died so far in natural disasters.
The monsoon in Bihar has weakened for now, but there are indications that the spell of rain will increase again in the next few days. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Patna on Thursday was 35 degrees Celsius, which is 2.3 degrees above normal.
In Rajasthan, there is a yellow alert in 13 districts on Saturday. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon will remain weak in the state for four-five days from August 23. Earlier, on Thursday, Dholpur received the highest rainfall of 29 MM. Meanwhile, Jaipur received the highest rainfall of 17 MM.
