Yash Toxic Film Event Accident

An accident occurred at the pre-release event of Yash’s film ‘Toxic’ at Mallareddy University in Hyderabad on Saturday. Two students were injured and a girl fainted after a heavy sound-box setup fell. The injured students were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. Yash was present on the stage when the incident took place.

According to an Aaj Tak report, some people had climbed onto the pole supporting the sound-box setup. The structure reportedly collapsed during this time, triggering panic at the venue.

A video of the incident has also surfaced online. It shows a large crowd at the event, with people seen carrying the injured students towards an ambulance.

At the time of the accident, Yash was on stage addressing the people celebrating “Toxic”. As soon as he learned about the accident, he stopped his speech midway and asked the organizers about the students’ condition.

From the stage, Yash said, “Hey, be careful. Is everything alright there? Sir, please check. Students, please be careful.”

Reports suggest that several students had gathered near the stage and climbed onto structures supporting the speakers and other equipment. Following the incident, questions are being raised about crowd control and security arrangements at large film events.

A serious security-related incident had also taken place at a film event in Hyderabad earlier. In December 2024, a woman died in a stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2, while her son was critically injured. Police had accused the theatre management of lapses in security arrangements.

The latest incident has once again raised questions about whether adequate measures are being taken to control crowds and prevent people from entering dangerous areas at events attended by major stars. It also highlights the need for organisers and makers to learn from past incidents.

Yash plays the lead role in Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in important roles. Toxic is scheduled to release in cinemas on August 26.
