2,500 missing in Nepal floods, death toll reaches 586:400 Indians stranded in Tibet; India to help rescue people trapped in tunnel


Following the devastating floods in Nepal-Tibet, the number of people missing has reached around 2,500. So far, 586 bodies have been recovered. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday that 320 Indian citizens in Nepal are still unaccounted for. Around 400 Indians are also stranded in Tibet. The MEA said 153 Indian citizens stranded on the Chinese side have safely reached Nepal. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a high-level meeting with senior officials to review the flood situation in Nepal. Jaishankar said people are suspected to be trapped in a tunnel at a hydropower project site.
